The EMDR Basic Training Parts I & II are designed for clinicians interested in learning to use EMDR with their clients. No previous experience with EMDR is necessary. In addition to Part I and Part II, 10 hours of group consultation completes the 50-hour training requirement of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). This training is fully approved by the EMDR International Association. The course includes supervised practicum, allowing participants a hands-on experience with EMDR.
EMDR clinicians who have previously completed an EMDRIA-approved EMDR training can take Part I or Part II for half price, space permitting.
Trauma-oriented client history-taking, Floatback technique, 8 phases of EMDR processing, techniques to address blocked processing, specific EMDR protocols for resolving various conditions, the Adaptive Information Processing System, ways to close down an incomplete EMDR session, and supervised EMDR practice sessions.
EMDR case conceptualization, review of the 8-phase EMDR procedure, advanced Cognitive Interweave, advanced Floatback, Advanced Resourcing, and supervised EMDR practice sessions.
20 hours per part for LPC, MFT, LCSW, APA, LMHC, and SCT.
Dr. Manfield is the developer of the Flash Technique AND has created an extensive library of EMDR demonstration videos showing actual sessions with clients (emdrvideo.com). Learning from someone who not only developed innovative techniques but also demonstrates EMDR application in real clinical situations provides exceptional training value.
Dr. Manfield introduces the Flash Technique in this training. The Flash Technique is an evidence-based therapy method designed to reduce distress from traumatic memories without requiring clients to actively focus on their trauma, making it particularly useful as a supplementary tool to EMDR.
