How Group Consultation Works

What Happens in a Group Session

Group sessions typically include case presentations from participants, discussion and problem-solving around stuck cases, questions and answers on EMDR concepts and techniques, skill-building on specific aspects of EMDR, and learning from others' cases and clinical questions.

You can present cases, ask questions, or simply listen and learn. The format is supportive and collaborative, not evaluative. And when you're ready to present your own cases or ask questions, there's always space for that too.

"His patience, deep knowledge, and ability to meet each group member where they were created an environment that felt both safe and highly effective." — Melissa Witter, LPC Read full testimonial ↓

I'm an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and Training Facilitator for Dr. Philip Manfield's EMDR Basic Training — a role I've held since 2013. I've facilitated EMDR consultation for clinicians at all stages of development, from those just completing Basic Training to experienced therapists pursuing advanced applications.

My consultation focuses on developing deep conceptual understanding of EMDR — not just following protocol steps, but grasping the underlying principles that make EMDR work. This helps you troubleshoot challenges in the moment and make informed clinical decisions with confidence.
